GROUPS
21 Together run a variety of different group sessions, from regular weekday and Saturday sessions to school holiday camps.
Early Intervention Groups
Split into four age groups; 21 Together provide a full-scale service for children from birth to eleven years of age! These groups aim to provide a syndrome-specific intervention service covering cognition, language and physical skills for children with Down’s syndrome.
Sessions are available in both Maidstone and Margate.
S-Club Sessions
These are social groups for young people with Down’s syndrome aged 11 to early 20s. Following on from speech and language therapy groups for younger children, the club is split into three sessions; smiLE, skills and social. The young people will follow a block programme of smiLE therapy, a social time to connect with others and skills sessions focussing on communication, relationships, community and identity.
Sessions are available in Maidstone.
Speech Club (Holiday Communication Camps)
These are intensive three-day sessions in the Easter and Summer holidays for children and young people. The themes of the camps will vary but they are all run by Symbol UK Ltd therapists with 21 Together staff available to support. This provides the children and young people with a more intensive environment to work on speech, social skills, friendships, appropriate behaviour and social interaction.
Places are allocated from our waiting lists, so please get in touch if you would like to be considered.
We are pleased to announce that our Early Interventions sessions are supported by the Garfied Weston Foundation, The National Lottery and Thanet District Council and our S-Club sessions are supported by The Co-Op Foundation’s Future Communities Fund.
